Our Understanding ADHD & Autism in Children & Teens workshop gets curious about complex presentations within the neurodivergent space. This comprehensive and interactive workshop dives into all aspects of ADHD and Autism and offers practical strategies to support individuals who are living or working with ADHD and/or Autism presentations. 

In 3 Minds Psychology Services in collaboration with Foster Your Mind is offering this unique, informative and practical workshop to the Midwest again!

This training has a clinical and professional perspective and has been delivered to schools, organisations and the Geraldton community since 2022.

After attending our workshops, participants have more knowledge about ADHD & Autism and have a better understanding of some of the complex coexisting conditions that sometimes accompany ADHD and Autism.

Feedback from participants has indicated that out content has assisted them in effectively supporting the children & teens with ADHD and/or Autism whether it be at home, at school or within the community. 

Understanding ADHD & ASD is a workshop suitable for teachers, parents, mental health workers, allied health workers, occupational therapists, nurses, school staff, NDIS workers & anyone who has been touched by ADHD or ASD.

Learning outcomes for the workshop:

  • What is ADHD? Understanding the 3 major types & gender differences

  • Prevalence, signs and early indicators.  Assessment processes & diagnostic pathways

  • ADHD and the brain 

  • Strengths, challenges, and misconceptions about ADHD

  • Common co-existing conditions

  • Co-regulation, guiding behaviour and ADHD

  • Sensory issues and ADHD and how to integrate interoception techniques

  • ADHD and Anxiety

  • ADHD and Trauma

  • Early indicators of Autism

  • Autism assessment processes and local diagnostic pathways

  • NDIS support and early intervention

  • Common co-existing conditions with Autism

  • Pathological Demand Avoidance – what it is/how to manage it/what support is available

  • Autism and Anxiety

  • Autism and Trauma - Trauma responses of Autistic children

  • Strategies on how to support Autism in your setting/organisation

 

COST - $300 per person (includes workbook, lunch and light refreshments).  

* In some instances NDIS funding can be used to cover the cost of the training.
